How much brain to remove to find happiness?
Before coronavirus came along….
I typed this ridiculous title up a few months ago …never got beyond the title…I soon realised after sitting back and pondering a brief moment that I would probably need to remove my entire brain. It would make me so happy that I would not need to write about it, I would just enjoy eternal bliss, as fresh air blew between my ears….I wouldn’t have to focus on keeping floods of thoughts from devilishly dancing through my mind….it should all be zen and happy, peaceful …a great place to be.
A few months ago we did not have a coronavirus pandemic eating into our lives, so I entertained myself with the luxurious subject of happiness. Today we are gasping for survival…something much higher up on the list of necessities than happiness, but then what is the point of surviving if you are not happy. So very often in our lives, we are tunnelled through life-threatening events, we duck and dive and survive and move on. Far too often we don’t learn much, our lives rocketing along too fast, without enough dedicated time to reflect and grow. Things are different this time around, we know this threat to our survival will last a while, and as we practice social distancing and quarantine, we will be spoilt with opportunity to reflect on what we are surviving for.
